Coming Home

English

It wasn’t fireworks. Not even a perfect first kiss. Just a knock on the door and a smile that felt like a memory I hadn’t lived yet. He stepped in like the room belonged to him, and suddenly it did. His arms were awkward, warm the kind of warmth that lingers in the bones. We sat. We talked. Of nothing. Of everything. The kind of talking that opens windows inside the chest. He smells like quiet. Touches like trust. Walks slightly ahead, not to drag me forward but so I can rest while still moving. There is a version of me that only exists in his presence: a softer man, less afraid of stillness. Sometimes, just putting my head on his chest feels like returning to a place I didn’t know I missed. Now I let myself be guided. Let his hand hold mine from underneath. Let his body curl into mine at night even when I’m too warm. Let him wash the dishes and place them in quiet rows like he’s making order out of our small world. He doesn’t know it, but he became my shelter without asking. No grand gestures. Just presence. And the quiet bravery of showing up. Ты моя тихая сила.
